Flooding: According to the National Weather Service, the flooding that has covered America's heartland this past week is simply a preview of what is to come this spring. Record rainfall in some states and the melting of snow packs in others are causing rivers and streams to overflow throughout the Midwest. Earthquake Damage Predictions: According to a recent study, a major earthquake on the Hayward fault in the San Francisco Bay area would impact more than 5 million people and cause in excess of $1.5 trillion in property damage in six counties. Projections suggest that 95 percent of residential losses and 85 percent of commercial losses would be uninsured.
