Complex claims on which GRS professionals have been involved include:

  • $2 billion product liability claim. GRS managed a litigation support unit and conducted extensive business interruption analyses, recommended claims settlement value, performed forensic accounting and made physical inspections to generate a database for settlement talks.
  • 40,000+ claims from a crude oil pipeline break. GRS planned and managed the receipt and recording of more than 40,000 third-party liability claims when a pipeline ruptured in Nigeria. GRS also provided claims management strategy and negotiations with tribal chieftains and governmental authorities.
  • $200 million oil well blowout. GRS managed, mitigated and assessed claims from a drilling incident in Italy. Our multiyear response included assessing periodic claims from the policyholder, negotiating payments, advising the policyholder on third-party claims and acting as liaison between the policyholder and excess insurers on all coverage issues.
